The Farm Ministry Assisting Residents of Myra, Kentucky

The Farm Ministry has recently received a request from Wayne Martin, a member/owner of Rockingham Cooperative, who lives in Kentucky. Wayne is a volunteer, coordinator, and member of the Beef Ministry in Kentucky.  Wayne has seen firsthand the destruction from the flooding in Eastern Kentucky this past July. The flooding resulted in eight to ten feet of water leaving many residents standing chest-deep in their own homes.

You can read about Waynes’ experience here.

The Farm Ministry has already provided approximately 8 pallets of beef and poultry to this area in the last several weeks. We plan to have a trailer filled with cheese, food, clothes, tools, etc. ready to deliver to Kentucky in the middle of November for those affected by this devastating event.

Rockingham Cooperative’s own Tony Mongold, Timberville Mill Manager, has graciously volunteered his time to drive the truck to Kentucky.  We would like to encourage any customer or community member to contribute via our online donation link. The Farm Ministry will utilize any funds donated to purchase personal hygiene items to accompany the non-perishable food, clothes, and tools that are being delivered.

Financial contributions to benefit Myra, Kentucky can be made here.

Enter the amount you would like to contribute and select “Area of Greatest Need”.
