In August of 2022 Pork For The Pantry partners, including Rockingham Cooperative, Delegate Chris Runion, Farmers & Merchants Bank, Farm Credit of the Virginia’s, Rockingham Petroleum, James River Equipment & Delegate Tony Wilt committed to purchasing hogs at the Rockingham County Fair, and Rockingham County Market Animal Show & Sale event, directly supporting 4-H /FFA youth livestock exhibitors. This pork was then processed into sausage and pork chops and was donated earlier today to Hope Distributed.

“Pork For The Pantry has been distributing high-quality protein, sourced from local market hogs and raised by the high-quality youth in Rockingham County, since 2016. Since that time our list of partners has continued to grow and we’ve collectively contributed over an estimated 6,000 pounds of fresh pork to individuals that need it most right here in Rockingham County. We’re greatly appreciative of the agriculture industries support of Pork For The Pantry over the years.”

- Sam Liggett, COO of Rockingham Cooperative
