3rd Trip to Myra KY December 16th, 2022

We were so humbled by all the donations we received from our local communities and the food from Rockingham Cooperative. We would like to thank all the donators for their support. We receive toys, clothes, household items, tools, construction supplies and hygiene products, which have an estimated retail value of $160,000 that aided the residents of eastern Kentucky in their efforts to get back on their feet after the flooding that occurred earlier in 2022.

Santa Helpers

The “Christmas Express” trucks, a 53’ refrigerated trailer and 24’ box truck, arrived full of their wares, into Myra, Kentucky at Manna from Heaven Outreach, on Friday, December 16th at 11 am. Each family received a 6-pound piece of premium cheese, a stuffed animal toy, a Bible, and a wrapped gift for each member of the family.

There was great excitement in Myra as the families brought their children to Manna to select toys and clothes. Lois Tackett said that the toys, clothes, meats, cheeses, and food we delivered gave the people Hope, just in time for Christmas. Lois said that our effort is so awesome and a blessing to the mountain folks receiving all that we sent.

Together we are making a difference in the lives of so many in Appalachia!

Thanks to everyone who helped in making this massive distribution happen and a tremendous success.

Another humbling trip completed. We spent several days deep in the hills of Kentucky; a lot of hard work was put into this trip. Like previous trips we were able to provide about 350 families on Friday and almost 1000 on Saturday with boxes of food, toys for the children, and gifts for the whole families (including a Bible). These trips are so rewarding. They have not only made us appreciate the life we have but have given us the chance to make many new friendships. We have never met more friendly, down-to-earth, and simply NICE people. We look forward to the next trip in January 2023. Written by a volunteer Donna Arrowood.
